About a 2 weeks ago my friend Lindsey came to me and told me she needed to back out of the mission trip to Africa we were going on together. I didn't exactly feel comfortable flying to Africa by my self, so I looked into other trips that AIM provided. Ireland was the only one that was even close to fitting my schedule. I kept telling myself, "you've been to Ireland 3 times, go somewhere new." Well the Lord was saying you're not through with Ireland, which is perfectly fine with me!!
I signed up and got everything switched over to Ireland. I never EVER thought I would be going back to Ireland this summer. I'm still in awe that the Lord would bring me back so soon. He keeps me in line with His plan. I keep telling people that the Lord called me to long term missions in Ireland, and so Him bringing me back this summer just reaffirms that for me.
After I signed up my missions adviser told me I needed $300 by Saturday...I got the email on Thursday. I freaked not knowing if I would be able to raise that in 3 days. Why I freaked I don't know, because the Lord has never NOT provided the right amount of funds. I text Lindsey and said "I'm going to Ireland if I can raise $300 by Saturday. This is going to be cray cray!". The very next morning I got a text from a friend at church asking how much I had left to raise. I told her $300 by tomorrow, and she said consider it done, I'm writing a check for $300. I just love it when the Lord provides like that. He always keeps things interesting.
NOW I just need to raise the money for my air fare. I love flying!! If you had seen me on my first plane trip to Ireland, you wouldn't believe me, because I was TERRIFIED to the point of my legs shaking...seriously! So, I need $1300 by July 1st, to be able to purchase my ticket on time.
I am going to New Ross, which is in County Wexford in south Ireland. This will be fun because I've never been farther than Shannon on the West coast. There is actually a lot of heritage there, like President John F. Kennedys great-grandparents are from New Ross so there is a huge statue of him there, and a festival every July (while we are there). We will be running the youth (ages 12-18) center there which is like our YMCA, we will also do some street evangalism, and run the childrens program for a local church.
SOME THINGS TO BE PRAYING FOR:
I will raise the rest of my funds and that my team will be able to do the same.
Our garage sale on the 14th and 15th of June that is helping fund my trip.
I am trying to sell T-Shirts (not going well so far) to help fund my trip
